Prevention counseling is an individualized service designed for persons who are concerned that their behavior could result in HIV/STD/Hepatitis infection or transmission.
Over the course of several sessions, a trained prevention counselor will help you to accurately assess your HIV/STD/Hepatitis risk, and your readiness to reduce or eliminate this risk.
Understanding behavior change as a process, the counselor will assist you in considering a spectrum of strategies you can employ to realistically reduce or eliminate your risk of acquiring or transmitting HIV/STDs/Hepatitis. The counselor will then work with you to develop and refine a personalized risk reduction plan.
The number of prevention counseling sessions is driven by individual goals.
