Schuylkill Wellness Services (SWS), a program unit of Co-County Wellness Services, was founded in 1997 as a program unit of Berks AIDS Network. Originally an AIDS-specific organization, the agency now provides services related to sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and Hepatitis.

Although many Schuylkill County residents do not perceive HIV and STDs as “our issue,” the reality is that these epidemics are affecting our community. As of December 2006, Schuylkill County ranked 21st, among Pennsylvania’s 67 counties, for cumulative AIDS cases; hundreds of visits are made to our STD clinic each year and the incidence of STDs is on the rise.

All of our services are free and confidential without discrimination in regard to age, ancestry, citizenship, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, medical condition, disability, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.

SWS is the only comprehensive HIV/STD service organization in Schuylkill County.
