Prevention services include individual and small group interventions that are proven to be effective, and community outreach. Prevention Services are intended to raise awareness, build skills and support participants in behavior change that will reduce the spread of HIV/STD/Hepatitis infection in our community.

In Berks County, prevention services are provided by a diverse staff that includes Peer Workers and Prevention Specialists. The prevention staff is specially trained in the fundamentals of HIV/STDs/Hepatitis, prevention counseling and selected proven interventions. Additionally, staff members regularly participate in ongoing training and skills building.
